I have had this washer for over a year...not a fan. I bought a top loader so that I could continue to soak my whites overnight. But I have found that because of the sensors of this machine it barely puts enough water in the drum to wet the clothes littles less soak them. I have been struggling with this since I have made the purchasw and wish I had made a different choice. And whether Samsung recommends how you wash your clothing and soaking them...it's none of their business. Their business is to provide you the features to get the job done that you want to get done. If you want to soak your clothing...make sure you talk to the salesperson about it first and ask the question. Do not assume that because it's a top loader and not a front loader that you can wash your clothing the same as you have in the past. I won't be buying another Samsung washer/dryer in the future.
