No. Ive had mine for 6 mos and works fine - and did not even realize it can be connected to WiFi. Just a heads up that this model currently has a recall for overheating.

No, you do not have to connect to wifi to use the washing machine. You just cannot create and download your own cycles with the app.

No wifi needed to operate. If you download the app. The wifi will update the app with current status of each unit.
