Bought this machine for mom. She likes it a bunch. It is a High Efficient machine. It uses minimal water, electricity and makes it so you don't need to use as much detergent as older non-HE machines, so you save a lot all the way around. It's got a 5.2 cubic foot LARGE drum so you can put large loads. Because of that, again, you save wat er r, electricity and tile as well as detergents. I think it will pay for itself in many ways, that's wi pulled the trigger on this model after almost two months of obsessed-like research. The only drawback is it's a little wider- bigger (I think) than other models mom has to have a step stool to reach in to get clothes out from the the deep drum. Elegant and quiet, Has an automatic self cleaning cycle after so many wash loads.
