As with any video device competing with sunlight or artificial lighting, glare can be a problem. The mounting location is critical to avoiding areas that could be washed out by lighting. The picture brightness on this set automatically adjusts to ambient conditions. My previous two sets did not have this feature and necessitated blinds to keep sunlight out of the room in order to keep picture from being "covered up" with excess lighting and glare. Samsung has done a great job in balancing ambient bright/dim regulation as once set up, even in a dark room, picture quality and brightness adjust perfectly without having human input. Important in the equation is distance from the set when viewing. The industry standard for HD is 3x the screen height to seating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The outdoor+ slider in Samsung settings will drown out color to make up for the bright screen. With outdoor mode off, the screen won’t be as bright but the quality will remain great.
