• Hey Doajeff - Yes, on page 123 in the e-manual it shows compatible formats and MKV is one of them so plug that external hard drive in and enjoy .^Jason

• I don't see why you couldn't. The tv has two USB ports. We bought this tv for my company's foyer and we have a thumb drive plugged in that plays a property video on a loop.
