I assume 42 is your width of the cabinet and I guess it depends on the look you want. I have this TV mounted with a cabinet underneath it that has a width of 60 inches because I like my TV’s to be slightly smaller than the cabinet. I have the 70 inch in this version as well and that is sitting on a cabinet that is 80 inches in width. If you are trying to fit a TV inside of a cabinet that is 29x42 then I would think you’d have to be looking at a 40 inch TV.
