A DVD Player can be connected to a TV using an HDMI, composite, component. you have 4 hdmi ports on Samsung TV. You will then need to select the proper source or "input" on your TV to view the DVD player once it's connected. the Samsung q80T is truly the best in its class and you will enjoy it if your room is bright or dark,
