Spoil Yourself with the Samsung Q80T

Such an amazing bright, smart 4K tv, with no glare screen, which isn’t available until you get to the Q80 series. The no glare was super important to us since it hangs across from a wall of Windows and we have several lights in the room. Its super easy to access all the apps you can possibly want and even has the ambient mode which allows you to display artwork when not watching tv. The whole family is loving watching movies together on this tv!

    Nice...but too many dots.

It is a nice looking TV, but it is boxed up for return the day after receiving it. Many dots like in the image on the screen - too hard not to see them, even after calibration. But these 3 dots are the worst - and right in the middle of the screen. In bright, colorful scenes it is not noticeable, but in dark scenes very noticeable.

Vert please with this new TV. The most outstanding feature is the picture quality. The TV was easy to physically set up. The initialization was straightforward. Had a little problem getting it to identify my DirectTV box but got it in the 3rd try. We were not familiar with a remote with as few buttons but soon got used to the joystick/mouse scheme. All in all it is easy to use and has terrific picture quality.

Unpacking and setup on the included stand was easy, just follow the included directions. I recommend downloading the most current owners manual from Samsung it makes fine tuning the picture and other options clear and straightforward. I bought an HDMI 2.1 cable and connected to my older Yamaha RXV-675 home theater system. The Q80T and the surround system work great together. The more we use the Q80T the more cool features we find.

Very good TV, great picture and good sound , easy to use and set up, a little bit pricey but I am happy with the quality. The first tv set I ordered was defective so I returned it and got a new one, best buy employees was so helpful and they helped me out with the reorder. The only thing I didn’t like about it is that there’s no paper manual , I guess everyone want to save money and they do online manual only.

This is a terrific TV! Bought during the pandemic, we did not get the advantage of Geek Squad installation, yet all went well--setup was easy. Though we're still learning the many aspects of this TV, we are enjoying it very much. The"smart" aspects we've learned to use are useful and getting rid of the separate streaming devices our old set required has cleaned up much clutter.

So far so good. Color, sound, etc all as advertised. It’s just another Samsung tv to me. If it’s like all the previous “new” Samsung models it’ll last two years. Definitely wasn’t my first choice but it is nice...for two years fingers crossed.

Great display, be aware tho the 50" version does not come with a 120 HZ panel like the 55" and above, also the 50" does not support VRR. at that point you for a 50" u can go with the hiedense H8G which has the same or better picture quality with good SDR peak brightness for less then half the price.

It was amazing how intuitive the smart TV is for my parents-in-law. It’s smart enough and simple enough for them to get use to. They wanted to keep their Fire stick that they’re use to and the input controls and remote control intuitively was set up upon plug in and work well. It’s also nice how well it programmed with their cable box. The picture is amazing and the user settings were easy to navigate without having to search through manuals. Perfect tv.

    Great mid-sized TV

Great mid-sized TV. Perfect for a smaller room and great for movies and streaming services like Netflix, Prime, Disney, et al. I have a 65" Q90T in my living room and I am impressed that the Q80T is as sharp with the same contrast for a smaller darker room. Using the same general picture settings as my Q90T made the Q80T easy to make slight adjustments to get the same picture as far as brightness and perfect blacks in high contrast situations. I mostly watch movies and use streaming services with this tv and there are no issues with motion in action scenes, the picture never lags or jitters at all. I was also impressed with the sound on this tv, but again, it's in a small room, but the sound is not tinny at all. However, I did add the Polk S2 sound bar with wireless woofer for what I think is a perfect set-up for this tv. Incredible sound in a small room for an inexpensive sound bar. I don't watch a lot of tv in my bedroom, but when i do now, I love the experience with the Q80T and the Polk S2 sound bar. Not too big, not too small and the performance in a smaller room is more than I expected. I highly recommend this TV if you don't think you need the higher end Q90T, there is not a lot of difference in picture quality. However, keep in mind, the Q90T can handle 65" and above screens, I am not so sure the Q80T would compare on a bigger screen, but on the 50" screen, you'll be impressed. And at 70 years old, I was able to set up this tv on my own, so it can't be too hard and it's not very heavy until you put it on the stand, a very heavy duty stand. However, still easy enough for a one person set-up, just follow instructions... yes those things you usually throw out with the box.

We are enjoying our new Samsung 50" Q80T television. Our 11 year old Samsung finally "bit the dust". We are enjoying the much higher quality acuity with the new TV. It also has features we have not yet fully taken advantage of, including Bluetooth technology.

We have had this set for a month. Positives: Big, bright, beautiful, sharp screen. Sound is quite sufficient-- better than hoped for--don't need a sound bar. All in all, quite a knockout and improvement on our 10 year old 40" Samsung HDTV. Negatives: Set does not swivel as older Samsung; needed a new stand that elevated set to accommodate box and Blue-Ray; Switching back and forth from cable to streaming makes a while to master with two remotes; Seems to be lag with speech and picture--Geek Squad coming to fine-tune after 100 hours. We'll see. A wonderful improvement for us in watching TV.

Purchased this Samsung TV about 3 weeks ago. Happy with picture and TV features. Only complaint is the Remote is very small and not overly user friendly or well marked to navigate with. Samsung could definitely improve the remote. Otherwise, picture quality is very good. TV ordered on line and delivered quickly. Geek Squad installation was smooth and they were very polite/helpful.

Excellent color on this TV. Using the controller took a bit of getting used to as when you come out of a channel by the reverse option button, it is directly next to the Netflex button. If you touch it instead of the reverse button, you must sign out and sign back into the live TV. We are set up with wifi instead of a coax cable inside the house. That may be why the controller works that way. Other than that one issue, the TV has great color and good soound

The TV is beautiful. The only issue I have with the TV is that the warranty from the manufacturer is so short - only 90 days. We purchased online and I opted to get Geek Squad coverage because of the (what I consider to be) poor warranty coverage. Geek Squad was initially priced at $159.99 but when I went to check out they pulled a fast one and raised the price to $179.99. I could not find a way to get back to the original, lower price so I just held my nose and made the purchase. I'm quite unhappy with BB for doing this, though.

The quality of the picture & ease of setup are great. My only reason for rating this TV a 4 is because I assumed (shame on me) that with Samsung I would have access to the Google Play store just like my Samsung phone. This issue has limited some of the apps I would like to have on my TV.
