My remote seems to work directly with the TV not the connect box. The TV has a motion sensor bottom center and i think thats where the remote ir connection is.

I keep the box in an enclosed console and the tv remote works fine (not sure if it’s a WiFi remote or if the sensor is on the tv).

Yes you can. Both the motion sensor and the remote sensor are on the bottom side of the Frame TV itself.
