The absolute minimum, in my opinion, is 39 inches. Even at 39, you only have about a half an inch to each side of the support legs remaining.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have my TV mounted onto the wall. The TV itself is 49 inches long. The height is 48 inches. The 2 legs that came with my TV (which I am not using) can be mounted at any place on the bottom of the TV. I believe this is true. Also, I have a soundbar mounted underneath the TV and a wireless sub woofer placed in the room. I would recommend the additional sound.

Rather, stands are free to sit and stand where they want. Forcing stands to stand together in standard spans of spaces is too rigid a stand to take with stands of all sizes, shapes and places of manufacture. Stand up for stand freedom and don’t force stands to stand arbitrarily is specified spans of space in between other stands.
