Yes this TV is great for watching football. Recently enjoyed watching the pre-season Patriots/Eagles game, and found that everything about the viewing experience was top notch!

This TV is not only good for football but any other sports movies and video gaming. My only and personal opinion is to add a sound bar or sorround sound system. Over all Best tv out there for the money.
