• We have had this tv for several weeks now and find the sound quality is very good for our family room. There is ample volume and sound quality from the built in speakers. I have a home theater unit, but don't use it for normal tv watching. You don't need a sound bar unless you want to have enhanced sound for your personal taste.

• I actually disconnecting my sound bar, I don’t think that an additional sound bar was needed.
