“I realize that the TV does not have a Bluetooth connection. Can I use a Bluetooth adapter and turn off the internal speaker to send the sound only to the adapter? Or, any way to connect to an external audio system and shut off the internal speaker?”

I used the optical out to plug into a LG Soundbar... then turned off the speakers in the menu
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You can turn off the TV's speakers and have it send the sound signal out through the optical output on the back of the TV. From there it can go to any device with an optical input. I connected it to a sound bar and it sounds great. Very LOUD.
