“Does the igniter start when you first turn the knob or do you have to turn the gas all the way on before it starts to light? Also, do you have to push the knob in to turn it and start the gas flowing? I am wondering about the safety measures of the knob”

The igniter vomes on immediately, lights eye and then you adjust flame. my wife does'nt like it. Yes push in safety knobs are present.
