I have this range in Tuscan stainless and mine "wakes up" the smart things control panel when you open the oven, but doesn't actually turn the oven or burners on...hope this helps.

While it is normal for the oven light to turn on when the door is opened, it should not start heating until a temperature is selected on the control panel.
