My wife hates 3D also so we haven't used the 3D. The picture alone on this TV is worth the money whether you use 3D or not.

There is no resolution or quality loss with a 3-D panel - rather, the 3D feature requires the panel be faster than others on the market in order to support the 3-D format, so it will be quicker and have less blur than some non 3-D panels. So you would be getting a faster panel than many panels on the market. If you decide to use the 3-D, you'll need a pair of 3-D glasses and content (like a 3-D Blu-Ray player), and you certainly don't have to use that feature to get the most out of your TV. The 2-D picture is a fantastic, bright and quickly refreshing panel. Many of the higher end televisions will have the 3-D feature available, but you don't have to use it. Thanks for your interest in Samsung televisions. --Mr.Samsung
