Full array back light. This makes a HUUUGE difference thus the big price difference. The 9500 is edge lit and from personal experience when you are watching wide scren format on the 9500 u can see the light come through where as the 9800 being full srray u get those good blacks!

Please try again later.We upgraded from the Samsung 65' UHD TV to the 65' Samsung SUHD TV about 2 months ago and we were REALLY skeptical that the picture would be enough of an improvement to justify the money. For us, it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. We are blown away every day by how much difference there is, even watching satellite which only outputs a certain quality anyway. And when watching anything 4K, we just stare at it. It makes you feel like you could walk into the TV. I love watching Pixar movies with the kids because the clarity and color are just outstanding. Add the 4K blu-ray player and it just doesn't get better. I definitely recommend the step up, you won't be sorry!!
