That wholly depends on what your existing bracket is capable of holding. When I upgraded all I needed to do was get longer bolts for the top mounts (from w.a.l.m a.r.t.). If your existing bracket is maxed out at 55, it is definitely not worth taking the chance that it might hold a bigger tv, because it might . . . . . . for a short while. Invest in one that takes up to 70" at least,
