does the TV have sound or is a sound bar necessary? null

Hi, The AU8000 TV has internal speakers (20W 2Ch) and features Object Tracking Sound Lite (OTS Lite), giving you immersive 3D surround sound with strategically placed dynamic speakers that move the sound around you. ~Samsung Advisor

The sound is good on the tv; we did get a sound bar, but it is not necessary.

I did not get the sound bar and can hear it perfectly.
