Hi oldMAN72, You will not need to connect the AU8000 TV to a computer. You can connect it to an antenna for local channels or a cable box. If you want, you can connect it to the internet to access Streaming platforms such as Netflix or Hulu, but it is not necessary. However if you are going to use cable you can use WiFi and set up a password to allow children to connect to internet in their computer or phone or watch various programs through Netflix or sling or prime tv. You have a choice of no cable and use regular antenna or get cable and enjoy much more tv programs, internet connection and more. It’s all up to you. My husband flips through various stations and connects to WiFi on his iPhone and he is 83. Enjoy your tv.
