We have moved to this set from a 55 inch HD Samsung. The quality of the sound is smoother, less glaring, even when it is turned up louder, it still isn't "painful" to listen to! And I wear a hearing aid on one side. That being said, our normal volume is a little higher, but much more comfortable. However, it shouldn't have to be that high for you to hear comfortably. Two things come to mind....(1) Your cable/satellite provider may have a solution, perhaps something in their settings. And (2) Have you checked the advanced settings to see if something is set at the wrong level for your viewing listening pleasure? I wish you luck, it really is a whole new experience!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have a built-in speaker(surround-sound) that we hooked in our 65 inch TV. So, we can either use the TV sound system volume or if we want a surround(very loud), we use our built-in speaker. We have no problem using the volume of of the TV either, if we forgot to turn on our surround-sound speaker. In fact, I asked my husband, what is the volume number he used in our TV without the speaker. He said 16 only. I told my husband about this question. And he guessed this customer might have a huge house? Anyways, that is the answer to this question.
