They are downward firing speakers. (On the bottom). They are nowhere near as bad as some people say. They are 40 watt 2.1 channel speakers meaning they have a built in sub woofer. If you go into the sound settings & change the sound volume/profile from standard to amplify you will notice a huge difference. I'm very satisfied with the sound quality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Down in bottom of frame. And they are terrible. Why you say? They want to sell you more stuff to "get the best experience"! When viewing with volume at 100 you do not get proper sound. The sound goes backward. Our bedrooms ate back from the living area down a hall. Due to 3 walls of windows, our 65 inch TV is in the only possible place with back of unit facing the B.R.s The TV sound is actually louder in the bedrooms than in L.R.!!! Seriously! So, we just found out about "Sound Scoops" Inexpensive, starting around $10. They are small, scoop shaped & the width of the speakers. Come in sets of 2. Attach to bottom of TV. Other solutions are expensive and frankly I don't feel that I should have to augment the unit. My 2 cents!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I write to share that regardless of where the speakers are, they are woefully inadequate. I purchased the Q70 65 inch recently after 10 years with a Sony 52 inch. While the Samsung picture is very good, the volume is awful. Even when turned up to the max setting, it is not that loud. I expect a TV to have max volume one would never use because of the loudness. The Q70 is a total bust in that regard. And what I learned about all thin TV's these days, is that they are all like this. The only solution is to purchase a soundbar. That really makes me angry after spending a lot of money on the Q70. So be aware!
