“I've been told Samsung televisions are very bright and not good for basements? Also heard numerous people who purchased a Samsung for the their basement have taken them back for a LG or Sony? Reviews look awesome though. Thanks for any help.”

Not sure why a basement would be different than watching tv in any other dark room, but I can say that I've never had a problem with my Samsung tvs being too bright. There is also a setting to allow the tv to automatically adjust to the ambient lighting in any room. In my opinion you cannot go wrong with this tv.

In the set up menu you have a choice to dim the TV to your likings
