“What is the main difference between the QN900A and QN800A? When comparing the two, I can't find any advantages for QN900A in fact it does worse in energy conservation. What makes the QN900A the flagship, would I lose anything going with QN800A?”

If you are buying a $5K+ TV my guess is you are not using the speakers that come with it and hooking it to some type of AVReceiver (i.e. Denon, Yamaha, etc) so that would eliminate the audio perk. The second one is the picture. The 900 has better local dimming zones so will do better with pictures. You have to decide is $3,000 more worth that?
