“Will hooking up the water line for steam be a problem for me because: 1. Washer and dryer are 6 and half feet apart, separated by a sink. 2. Washing machine is old, but works well, and tends to move around when unbalanced.”

You will have to buy a long hose to reach it, I had similar problem and got extended line.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You may need a longer hose than the one that is supplied with the dryer but other than that it should work fine Since the washer "walks" a little its probably good that it is separated from the dryer.
