I had a similar experience. I was able to improve the image quality of 4k content from netflix and disney+ by changing the picture settings. This is what worked for me. I went into the settings under "Picture" and changed picture mode to Movie. Then I went into "expert settings" and changed "picture clarity settings" to off.
