It works well with my home theater (5.1). I had Geek Squad do the install and I would highly recommend them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have my Q8 connected to my Onkyo 7.1 receiver. I connected an hdmi cable from the receiver to the (ARC) input on my tv. I do not have an optical cable connected for audio. I was having trouble where the audio would reset back to the tv speakers and I could not switch it back to play through my surround sound. This was because I was turning off my receiver before my tv. As long as I turn on the receiver first, the option to switch audio to my surround shows up again on the tv. With the correct settings, if i turn off my tv, it turns off my receiver as well. I make sure to always turn my receiver on first. It has been working great. I also connected an ultra chrome cast directly into another hdmi input on my tv. It doesn’t work if I try connecting it to the receiver. I connected a brand new ps4 pro to my receiver and I was also having a hard time....my receiver was acting up and the hdmi light was blinking, my Q8 kept telling me to check my connections but they were good. I did not want to connect my ps4 pro directly to my Q8. I ended up having to turn off my hdmi UHD color option on my tv, under external device manager. A few seconds later my ps4 screen would pop up and it was good, except when I checked my 4K settings the ps4 was saying HDR settings didn’t exist on the connected tv(Q8). Every time I would turn on the hdmi UHD color option on my tv (input 4), the screen would go blank again and my receiver started acting up again. With YouTube help I turned off my UHD color option on input 4 again, saw my home screen on the ps4, and I powered down the ps4 until it completely shut off. I went back to my Q8 and turned on the UHD color option again. I then did a hard reset on my ps4...first I pushed and held the power button until I heard 2 beeps, one right away, and the second about 7-8 seconds after... going into safe mode settings on my ps4, I went to the hdcp setting and I clicked on the 1.4 setting. I went back to safe mode and then clicked on update resolution and I clicked on the second one(forgot what it said, something like yuv420).... I checked my ps4 4K setting and it accepted my tv as HDR capable. I believe this makes the ps4 play at 4k at 30 hz and not 4K at 60hz. I don’t know why this is but It worked for me. I am now able to enjoy my Samsung tv, ps4, chrome cast, DVD player, with my surround sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this TV supports connecting external devices using the HDMI ports.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.None that I have experienced. Be aware though, that this tv only has an optical audio output and you need an optical input to connect to your receiver. I have my devices connected to the hdmi inputs on my receiver and then passed through to my TV. Reducing the cables to and from the tv to two( optical and uhd). However, using this setup, the receiver must be on and switched to the audio channel for me to get sound from the tv. Hope that helps.
