• It would most likely work, but it seems like the b450 tomahawk only has 1 gen3 M.2 slot. Since this is a PCIE gen 4 drive, you would be limited to the bandwidth of the slot. It would be a better Idea to go with a cheaper, PCIE Gen 3 SSD such as the 970 Evo, because you would get similar performance for a lower price in this situation. If you need the increased bandwidth of a PCIE gen 4 SSD, You would need to upgrade your motherboard to one that supports PCIE gen 4 and make sure that your CPU supports gen 4 as well.

• Hi He is talking about the Samsung SSD 980 which is PCI Gen 3.0, not the SSD 980 Pro which is PCI gen 4.0 indee. Cheers

• Technically yes, HOWEVER, the b450 Tomahawk does not have any PCIE 4.0 connections. The 980 pro will be forced to run at a slower speed. You would be better off purchasing a 970 EVO or something similar. You would get more for your money.
