Yes, order the version without the heat sink to fit into laptops. The heat sink will make it too large for the laptop small form factor

Even without a heatsink, the 990 Pro reaches 72 degrees Celsius, which is high but not dangerous. However, some say that PCIe 4.0 NVME drives generally need a heatsink or they will throttle under load.
