• It works with my wife's phone in a commuter case. Not sure if the defender is much thicker. Find someone with a wireless charger and try it.

• Hello flojo, thanks for asking! This charger is Qi compatible meaning any Qi-certified products can take advantage of it. Wireless charging may not work properly if you have a thick case on your phone. If needed, remove it before placing your phone on the wireless charger. ^Elizabeth
