For keyboards, it works with USB wired keyboards, bluetooth keyboards, and wireless keyboards with dongles (tested with the Logitech unifying receiver). Same for mice. As an added bonus, those devices work not only for a laptop connected to the USB Type-C port but also with the internal "smart" apps like the web browser. USB devices plugged into the three ports on the back of the display are presented to a computer connected to the USB Type-C port as if they are plugged into a USB hub. Theoretically a USB DVD drive would work in that way, if the hub can provide enough USB power. I don't think the display itself would be able to use the DVD drive even if this did work, beyond potentially treating it like any other USB storage device and letting you browse photos to display or similar.
