This generation of upscale 4K player will make your Blu-ray movies look very good at "near 4K". It is not actually display true 4K – that is the next-generation players which will be coming out in a few months, assuming at a premium price. I was playing Harry Potter blu ray the other day, and it froze the scene, and I stood about a foot away from the TV (65 inch 4K that I bought from Cosco), and it simply looked amazing. Keep in mind that there are no real 4K Blu-ray movies available now and when they come out, it will not play on this machine. Those "4K Blu-ray" movies that you see are mastered from 4K source.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Blu-ray player is 4K upscaling that allows you to upconvert the video resolution to 2160p.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I went round and round looking for the answer to this and could find no definite answer. I was told by a BB employee the 1080 on this 7500 player might be a typo, but the Samsung site is unclear. If it was 2160 they surely would say so. And they don't. What started me digging was a comment by a 6500 buyer who said he returned it because the BB site was in error having 2160 for it's max res., it was only 1080p. (I looked at some Sony's and they all showed 2160 on this site.) I then looked at pg 49 of the Samsung 7500 owners manual: " Resolution according to the contents type". Either it's clear as mud, or I don't know how to read it because of the way the chart is set up. It seems to reference a 2160 output on one of the machine's settings but I'm not sure, you'd have to look at the chart yourself. It also references BD Wise which I believe is the propriety Samsung upscaling method, and by all accounts a good thing. But here's the thing: it only works with Samsung TV's. So I'm going with this player now while it's cheap because if the reports of a true 4k Samsung player are valid then surely it won't be cheap and I can upgrade when the price is lower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is not a true 4K Blu Ray player. That is coming out in a week (12 February 2016). This player will upscale your Blu Ray movies to "near" 4k with a 4k TV. I must tell you, I am a movie junkie, and I have many Blu-ray movies and they all look terrific. (Mine is a 65 inch 4K TV from Costco.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some quick results. I have a number of movies, as Im a movie junkie. The output is 2160P. Simply Awesome. Every BluRay Movie I have played is displayed at 2160P. When playing Mkv or mpeg, Divx, flv. Depending on the quality of the recording, is how the player will display. Better the quality it plays at 2160. Most times it doesn't. That is dependent on the TV. Networked media from a home server, looks very good, again. Depending on the quality of the file. 1080P Youtube videos look Incredible. Some 4K Videos, are truly amazing. All at 2160P
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have this unit. I played a 4K movie on it through my 1080p 53" Samsung T.V. THE PICTURE WAS AWESOME!!! Keep in mind the marketing is set to sell 4K T.V.'s. There are not many 4K movies available. So the unit upscales to 4K. That means it outputs 4K. Lots of people are running out to get 4K T.V.s and there really isn't much they can watch in that resolution. So even Blu-Rays need upscaling. It is outputting 4K.. I own "THE FIFTH ELEMENT" in 4K. The resolution it sent to my 1080p tv was amazing. I have watched this movie many times from a standard blu-ray. One would think I wouldn't see a difference but it was there. I was amazed. Go read this. http://www.samsung.com/us/video/blu-ray-dvd/BD-J7500/ZA Worse case; Buy the unit. Make sure to own a 4K movie and a standard 1080p copy of the same movie. Play the 1080p on the old Blu-ray player and then plug up the 4K unit and play the 4K movie. Return the player to Best-Buy if you feel it didn't give you 4K. You are buying an item believing it is 4K. If it does not live up to that. Return it to the store. I bought mine from the store and had it delivered there. I am happy with the output. The sound Quality is also incredible. The color output is very SAMSUNG quality. You will like this. just return it if you are not happy.
