• Yes it will still work but it will look strange because the case of the microwave isn't finished, because it is supposed to be covered by the cabinets.

• Greetings, Our Samsung over-the-range microwaves are designed to be mounted on the wall in between cabinets and/or placed above a range. No obstacle should be below the microwave since this can also function as a hood vent. The suggested installation for this microwave can be found on page 7 of the installation manual link below.
