No bypass plug is required for these earlier units, as they include a built-in filter bypass mechanism. However, for units manufactured or purchased in 2025 or later, the filter cannot be bypassed. In these newer models, the ice maker and water dispenser will not operate if the filter is removed, as the system requires a filter to be installed. At this time, a bypass filter or plug is not available for these units. When connected to a reverse osmosis (RO) system, you may experience low water pressure or no water flow.
