• Hi there, Yes, if no pot(cookware) is detected in the cooktop zone, then the cooktop will automatically turn off. ^Rodel

• Yes it does! It will also let you know if a pot is not compatible with the unit.

• Yes, you get a warning first that no pot is present, then it shuts off.
