If you dont have Total Tech, or the protection plan I would say the thing has failed and you may be SOL. Thats the battle and why i started investing in the extras so im not stuck losing. BestBuy just has made my life easier, and since i pay for the things i mentioned above i never end up losing and if they cant fix it i get a replacement or the value i paid for it. Its the manufacturer at the end of the day. BestBuy is just a middle man for all the tech flowing around. And they know most of it is not made to be built for the Long Haul. So they offer the extras just incase. And they are worth it for what your dealing with now. Check with the manufacturer as well
