Since this is a Chromebook, it has Google Docs, not Word, but you can save documents in a format similar to Word, and edit Word documents. It's similar for Excel; there's a Google Docs format which is similar and you may be able to get Office apps from the Play Store.

It comes with Google's version but you can download the Office apps from the play store.
