Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find it better to format the cards I have to fat32 for android devices, however it should work fine as it is, You should put it in a computer and give it a name with properties on windows, android has a glitch in that part that makes it hard to save to it if you do not,, ES file explorer will allow you to mount it in a way to move things to it in most any operating system 4.1 and up

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I doubt you will have to format it before hand. When you insert the card into you S5, you have to check and see if the phone has detected it. Once detected, most devices will give you the option of formatting the card. That is when you would format it. The device will automatically use a format that is compatible. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usually when you put it in your devise the devise will ask you if you would like to format the card. Especially if it does not know the format it currently has on it. But if you want to be on the safe side use the mini to format it manually. In your setting look for storage, in storage go to external card. Click format. Thats it. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased the chip at BestBuy (on sale!!!). They formatted it to interface with my phone AND transferred files onto it before I ever left the store!!! Checked to make sure my phone recognized it, could access it, and that the files on it were properly indexed in my files app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
