Yes you can! There are cameras that allow you to see the inside of the fridge from the app.

Your wife is absolutely right, OldTechGrandad! This model has an "inside image" feature that can be used when connected to the SmartThings app on a smart phone. This means you can actually see inside your refrigerator while shopping at the store!
