“I just bought this and it won’t charge my phone in the upright position. It starts to charge then stops and says charging has paused. It’s going back today. I have the Samsung 9plus with an otter box. I’m not taking the case off each time I charge it.”

Yes, I read up on it and knew I’d probably need a super-thin case to charge this in; I KNEW this but somehow did not realize the difficulties involved when purchasing an all-glass, curved screen phone (S-8+). So there’s NO POINT in buying a case that won’t protect this phone, but I kept the charger and use it as a back-up. Yes, taking an Otterbox off each time — forget it. I have come to love the phone but I own ONLY cases that will protect it and that means, put the case on. Place phone DOWN ON A FLAT SURFACE. IF THE GLASS SURFACE OF THE PHONE TOUCHES THE FLAT SURFACE— DO NOT BUY THAT CASE! Good luck :)

I had a vertical charger that came with my S9+ and it charged my phone more quickly, I had to position my phone directly in the center of the charger though. I recommend exchanging the convertible charger for the vertical model.
