I own a Galaxy s5, and it has the NFC feature, which allows data exchange from when it touches another device. A friend told me that because of that I can wirelessly charge it. Is that true with this device? null

Sorry to tell you that your friend is wrong. NFC is for data transfer and not for wireless charging. In order to be able to charge your S5 wirelessly, you will have to buy a wireless charger transmitter that you will have to connect to your phones mini usb plus and wrap the sensor behind your phone.

No, the Galaxy S5 does not have wireless charging when shipped. Qi wireless charging technology is not the same as NFC technology.

I am not familiar with the S5, but I do know that NFC and wireless charging do not coincide with each other. If the phone has a glass backing on it, then it should. Otherwise, NFC is more for things like Bluetooth audio, airdrop (the Samsung equivalent), etc.
