You’ll need a gas line in place regardless of what the range comes with. If there is no gas line in place, only a skilled tradesperson — a plumber or HVAC technician — can install a gas line and (fair warning) that is expensive. That’s the most important “conversion” you’ll need to switch from an electric range to a gas or duel fuel range. We did that in connection with some home renovations earlier this year and it cost more than $2,000.
