Ethernet cable is faster than wi-fi. If you have a wireless router it should be fine as long as it can broadcast N and newer protocols. A USB-C to ethernet cable is affordable and is more secure than wi-fi but mobility will be diminished.

However, if your only concern is speed (not security), this would be a product of your local WiFi connection and the laptop's capabilities. A computer at this price level would almost certainly be capable of 5gHz WiFi, so if your wireless router can output on the 5gHz band, and your ISP is providing the necessary speed connectivity, you can get up to 1.3gbps.
