“The computer was listed as coming with a 512GB ssd hard drive but only came with 456GB SSD which then is reduced by the loaded software. Am I missing something? That is a large reduction of the listed spec. T”

Formatted size is always less than advertised, plus there are hidden partitions for recovery files if needed.
