“Any way to turn Buds off, or must they always be kept in case? Seems if I just drop on them on my nightstand after going to bed, the battery keeps draining.”

They need to be put in the case to shut them off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can turn your bluetooth off on your phone and i believe thatll put them into a rest state... however the case is designed to have them in when they arent in use, so id recommend that always.
