• You can download apps just in parent mode, and then go to parental control and select apps to add them into kids mode.

• If you don't want kids mode, the parent/guardian has to exit out of it, then the tablet is set up like a regular Samsung Galaxy & you can get different apps at the app store. Also, no you can't download other apps while in kids mode because "kids mode" is it's own app.
