No, you can use your phone on whatever plan you want; without a 5G plan your phone would just use 4G instead.

No. I kept my previous plan which was not unlimited and did not include 5G.

No, you dont have to have 5g plan to upgrade as long as you are eligible. The 5g is just a certain signal that boost your service but only on certain areas at least at this time.

Keep in mind some carrier offers the promo on a certain plan only. You are better off contacting your service provider to check unless you intend to purchase unlock phone.

No, you may not even live in an area with 5g...so I learned after upgrading my plan...sigh
