“Can Unlocked Note 8 be used on Verizon to call & simultaneously use data? I had an unlocked S8 but was only able to make a call but not go online or send a message. I'm able to now on Verizon Note 3. Is this still an issue or just a setting change?”

Most new phones only have one antenna module shared between CDMA & LTE radios, and since Verizon uses CDMA for calling, you probably won't be able to use LTE data while calling OUT OF THE BOX. If you enable "Advanced Calling" (which VZW brands as "HD Voice") in the phone's settings, calls will be routed over LTE (not impacting your data usage), and you'll be able to access data while on a phone call.
