It has to be an At&t branded phone or you can't use wifi calling or volte. You may possibly be able to flash the firmware to At&t in order to make it work. However it is highly not recommended to do so unless you know how to do it. You could brick your phone, best thing to do is take it back and get a at&t version one if possible. As for activating just call At&t they should help you but all you should need to do is just take a at&t sim card and put in, nothing else.

IF THEY DO NOT I WOULD SEND IT BACK TO WHERE YOU ORDERED FROM EXPLAIN WHAT ISSUE WAS REQUEST A NEW ONE THAT IS TO WORK PROPERLY OR DEMAND A REFUND ..
