• if you want your phone blogged down with bloatwear you can go to t-mo other than that this phone is compatible with t-mo

• If you buy the "unlocked" version of the phone, you definitely can. That model will allow you to use both CDMA and GSM networks, and T-Mobile is a GSM network, so you'll be set. Of course, buying through them works as well, but restricts you should you decide to leave T-Mobile.

• I only buy unlocked phones from Best Buy. Rest assured you do not have to pay the higher TMobile price for the phone. You can definitely pay less buying an unlocked phone through Best Buy and activate it with any carrier. I do recommend TMobile service. TMobile is the only carrier with free 5G service. Other carriers charge extra for 5G service.
